Foundation
Knowledge transfer between countries
The IFD guidelines and recommendations form the basis for many national rules used by members in their own countries. In this way the IFD also transfers knowledge between countries. All publications are made available free of charge in German and English.
Three technical commissions
The publications are drawn up by three specialist bodies:
Pitched Roof Commission
Develops guidelines on roof coverings, rain protection and safety on roofs.
Facade Commission
Responsible for ventilated curtain wall facades and external wall cladding.
Waterproofing Commission
Covers flat roof and building waterproofing.
Contribute, not just consult. All members benefit from the experience of the others. Partner members can take a direct part in drafting recommendations and guidelines.
